The Vandals Jr. High Wrestling team competed in the Jon Davis Middle School Tournament yesterday in Edwardsville. The Vandals dominated the 17 team field on the way to a team championship, beating 2nd place Liberty Middle School by 78 points.4 Vandals brought home an individual championship (Zander Pratt 64lbs, Riley Hinton 90lbs, Elijah Mabry 103lbs, and Dominic Swyers 215lbs) and another 4 made the finals and brought home 2nd place (Aiden Evans 84lbs, Max Philpot 96lbs, Keagan Turner 135lbs, and Brody Jay 275lbs). 5 other Vandals placed 3rd (Jase Rosenberger 74lbs, Cole Yarbrough 118lbs, Corbin Meyers 145lbs, Baylen Kopp 154lbs, and Noah Langston 176lbs) while Brody Matthews finished 4th at 126lbs.
The Jr. Vandals will be back in Edwardsville tomorrow to compete in the IKWF Dual Team State Qualifier where they finished 3rd last year on their way to a 4th place finish at the IKWF Dual Team State Tournament.
