The latest Illinois Crop Production Report shows corn and soybeans may be setting some records this year. The November forecast has the Illinois corn yield at 215 bushels per acre, up 13 from last year says Crop Statistician Mark Schleusener.
Crop production is estimated at 2.27 billion bushels. The Illinois soybean yield is forecast at 64 bushels per acre. That’s one bushel below last year’s record yield. Soybean production is expected to be at 685 million bushels which would also be a record high.
