The Vandalia Fire Department handled a house fire on Tuesday morning.
Vandalia Fire Chief Mark Meadows says they were called to a house fire at 816 Burtschi Street on Tuesday morning. Chief Meadows says they arrived to find smoke coming from the 2nd floor and they were able to contain the fire to 1 bedroom. Chief Meadows says they had 11 firefighters on the scene and were there for about one hour.
