The sports betting industry in Illinois continues to amaze as the state is now the 2nd largest betting market in the country. According to August numbers released by the Illinois Gaming Board, the state surpassed New Jersey in the amount of gross gaming revenue. Dave Briggs from PlayIllinois-dot-com says it is an impressive feat considering the infancy of Illinois sports betting.
Revenue figures for Illinois in August were up 9 percent from July, and are expected to increase in September as well because of the start of the NFL season. Briggs says he expects the industry to continue to grow.
