(Chicago, IL) — Democratic leaders in Illinois are pushing back a planned special legislative session to strengthen the state’s abortion rights. Governor Pritzker, Senate President Don Harmon, and House Speaker Emanuel “Chris” Welch released a joint statement saying they would summon lawmakers back to Springfield “in the coming months.” Pritzker called for the special session after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last month.
