It is the first summer time primary for the State of Illinois in recent memory, and Fayette County will have a contested race in the Republican Party for Sheriff. David Russell is currently the Fayette County Sheriff, having been appointed to the position last year and serving since October. Recently at the Lincoln Day Dinner, he was asked what he would say to folks who would ask him why they should vote for him.
Ronnie Stevens is currently an Investigator for the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and has been with the Office for over 8 years. Stevens also responds to the question of what he would say if asked “why should I vote for you?”
The Illinois Primary is June 28th, meaning we are still more than 3 months away from the election. Meanwhile, it will be a busy Primary for the Republican Party and we’ll talk about some other races coming up tomorrow.
