(Garden Prairie, IL) — Autopsies are pending for five people killed in a house fire in Boone County. The blaze broke out yesterday inside a home on Fleming Road in rural Garden Prairie. The Boone County Sheriff’s Department says three children and two adults died. They are believed to be related, but their identities haven’t been confirmed. Six other people who lived at the home, as well as one Sheriff’s Deputy, were hospitalized. Two of the six are in critical condition, while the deputy was treated and released. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
