Fayette & Bond County both facing a large amount of power outages this morning.
According to Southwestern Electric’s website there are 1,049 outages in Fayette County with 962 in the Shafter area and 151 in the Vandalia area. And, there are an additional 785 outages in Bond County this morning.
Earlier this morning, Southwestern Electric released the following statement on outages in Madison County—–
Nearly 3,000 Southwestern Electric members lost power this morning as the early stages of a winter storm pushed into Illinois. At about 6 a.m., 2,900 Madison County members lost service. Crews have been dispatched to identify the source of the outage and make repairs.
The outage is affecting members in Holiday Shores and the surrounding area. It stretches from Bethalto east to the Renken Road area, and from Highway 140 north to the Madison-Macoupin County line.
Members are cautioned to avoid all downed and low-hanging power lines. The lines may be energized, or become energized without warning.
