A special steer brought in a lot of money that was all to honor a special young lady.
At the end of the Fayette County 4-H Livestock Auction on Tuesday evening at the Fayette County Fair, a special red Holstein dairy steer was auctioned off. What made this animal so special is this was in memory of Holly Lidy. Holly was a 7 year member of the Shafter Friends 4-H Club. But, Holly was tragically killed in an auto accident in November of 2019. And, because of the pandemic, the plans to honor her last year were not able to happen. But, she was honored at the conclusion of Tuesday evening’s Auction, with the steer being presented by Holly’s sister, Morgan, and then sold several times and donated back and raising $71,100 total dollars that will go to Fayette County 4-H and to the Holly’s Mountain Memorial Fund. Holly’s father, Dave Lidy, speaking after the auction.
And, Lidy hopes everyone will join them in remembering Holly.
