Rep Wilhour says new legislative map “literally marginalizing the folks in my district”

State Representative Blaine Wilhour has some pretty harsh words for the new legislative maps put together by Illinois Democrats.  Wilhour is a Fayette County native and currently represents the entire county in the 107th district.  But, under the new maps brought forth by the Illinois Democrats and signed by Governor J.B. Pritzker this past Friday, only half of the Fayette County would be in the 107th district going forward with the southeast corner of Fayette County in the new 110th district and the southwest corner in the 109th district.  Wilhour says it’s not right.

Although the legislative maps have been signed by the Governor, there seems to be some room for possible change.  There has been discussion of a lawsuit over the maps.  And, Governor Pritzker has acknowledged there could be later changes when the full census data is available.
