Lucien S. “Gook” Jones, 89, of Edgewood, Illinois, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021, at his home in Edgewood, IL, surrounded by his three daughters.
Graveside Services and interment will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 6, 2021, with Military Rites by Crawford-Hale American Legion Post #95 & Brownstown VFW Post #9770, at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Joe Lawson officiating. He was born September 5, 1931, in Vandalia, IL, the son of Joseph J. & Maggie J. (Reed) Jones. He married Linda Lou Gelsinger in 1959. He was a former Surveyor in Punta Gorda, FL; U.S. Army Veteran; Life time member of VFW Post 3862 and American Legion Post #95, both of Vandalia, IL; and was affiliated with the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by: Daughters – Tina Smith, Edgewood, IL, Tracy Hendricks & Robert, Shobonier, IL and Trena Jones, Findlay, IL; 8 Grandchildren; and 11 Great Grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: Parents; 7 Brothers; and 1 Sister – Pauline Jones.
