A Keyesport woman has been charged in Bond County with Aggravated Battery to a Child.
In a release from the Bond County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, it says the Bond County Sheriff’s Office was contacted this past week by Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis who reported that a female infant was being treated at their facility for head and chest injuries which they felt were suspicious in nature. The Bond County Sheriff’s Office says that an investigative task force was assembled which included a total of 5 investigators from Bond and Madison County. The task force then conducted their investigation with the assistance of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, the Illinois State Police Crime Scene and the Bond County State’s Attorney’s Office.
The release says that as a result of the investigation, 20 year old Faith M. Runge of Keyesport was taken into custody for Aggravated Battery to a Child this past Thursday. Runge was then formally charged and arraigned on Friday in Bond County Court on 2 counts of Aggravated Battery to a Child–both of those charges are Class X Felonies. The release goes onto state Runge is currently being held in the Bond County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
