Three individuals were injured in an accident on Illinois Route 185 on Friday night in Fayette County. The accident occurred at 8:30 on Friday night on Illinois Route 185 at 1150 North in Fayette County. Illinois State Police reports say that a Farina Police Officer attempted to stop the vehicle for a traffic violation on Interstate 57, near exit 135–the Farina exit. State Police reports say the vehicle failed to stop and fled from the Farina Police Officer. State Police say the vehicle was traveling northbound on Illinois Route 185 near Fayette County Road 1150 North at a high rate of speed when the vehicle’s driver lost control negotiating a curve. The vehicle then left the roadway to the right and overturned. Two occupants were ejected and all three occupants were airlifted to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The occupants were 19 year old Kanen Finke of Effingham, 18 year old Robert Lowrance of Teutopolis and a 15 year old male from Effingham.
Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit responded to assist in the investigation. State Police reports say, at this point, it is unclear who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.
