While everyone deals with the ongoing uncertainty of the current pandemic, seniors in the class of 2020 in high school have dealt with two months of missed sports seasons, last proms and now the loss of traditional graduations. Patoka High School graduate and country music artist Drew Baldridge is finding a way to connect with high school seniors through a special song and through special Zoom concerts. About a year ago, Baldridge wrote a song called “Senior Year” and now with everything going on, seniors this year have been really relating to it and even using it on social media platforms for slideshows and videos.
When Baldridge performs each Zoom concert at schools both small and large and watches the reactions of the kids to the song, he says it is a humbling experience.
As he gives each concert, one thing Baldridge says he tries to share with the kids is that they will come through all this uncertainty stronger and that they still have so much more to experience in life.
Baldridge is scheduled to perform a Zoom concert for Vandalia High School’s senior class this Wednesday, May 13 at 7pm.
