Companies and manufacturers in Illinois are banding together during the current pandemic to step up and produce PPE or personal protective equipment needed in the fight against COVID-19. During his daily briefing on Monday, Governor JB Pritzker announced the formation of a new alliance called the Essential Equipment Task Force.
The governor says items manufactured by the companies will range from masks to ventilators needed by medical personnel to help fight the virus.
During the briefing, the Governor also gave out numbers of PPE items received from the federal government compared to the number requested by the state. While some numbers of items received were much lower than that requested, there were also other items requested that the state did not receive at all.
