John Henry Grames, 80, of Brownstown, IL passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at home surrounded by family.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Liberty Christian Church, Brownstown with Rev. Tom Fedrigon and Don Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery, Brownstown. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00-10:30 AM, Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Liberty Christian Church. John Henry Grames was born on October 08, 1939 in Beecher City, IL, the son of Henry Dale and Eva Marie (Logue) Grames. He married Carolyn Louise Smith on April 06, 1965; together, they shared 54 years of marriage.
John retired from Feller Oilfield Services, Inc., where he worked for over 40 years and was a lifetime employee of the Fayette County Speedway. He was a member of Liberty Christian Church, Brownstown; Golden Years Club, Brownstown; Masonic Temperance Lodge # 16; and past member of the Fayette County Pork Producers.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Grames of Brownstown; daughters, Alice Stewart of Brownstown, Robin Hobler and special friend, Scott Brian of Greenup, Lisa Grames and special friend, Rex Myers of Brownstown, and Holly Grames and special friend, Kevin Hollaway of Bluff City; sister, Clarise Perry of East Peoria; grandchildren, Davis Redman of Chicago, Chalice and husband, Larry Oakes of Vandalia, Anna Hobler and special friend, Adam Bowling of Vandalia, and Jonathon Hobler and special friend, Hunter McWhorter of Effingham; and great-grandchildren, Raygan, Tanner, Richie, and Jaxs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dale Grames; son-in-law, Tom Stewart; brother-in-law, Bill Perry; and special nephew, Ernest Perry.
