The Vandalia Police Department will replace the oldest squad car in its fleet with a new vehicle. During Monday night’s Vandalia City Council meeting, the council approved a bid from Hosick Motors for the purchase of a 2019 Dodge Ram 4×4 Crew Car Truck for $25,663. The funds for the vehicle will come from the Police Vehicle Fund.
Also during the meeting, a temporary liquor license was approved for the Bicentennial Celebration coming up next weekend. The license will allow alcohol sales during the concerts that are set for Saturday during the celebration on the First National Bank parking lot.
