Illinois Driver’s Licenses may offer a gender-neutral option. Lawmakers have passed a bill to be more inclusive of those who don’t identify as solely male or female. It’s sponsored by State Representative Anne Stava-Murray.
If the Governor signs the bill into law the change won’t happen immediately. The option wouldn’t be available until the Secretary of State’s office moves to a new digital license and ID system.
