Floyd Jenkins Bolt, 82, of Ramsey, passed away at 6:20 a.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the home of Cavit and Denise Cooley in Browns Mills, New Jersey. In keeping with Mr. Bolt’s wishes, there is no visitation or service. Cremation rites will be accorded with a private final placement at Bolt Cemetery in rural Ramsey.
Mr. Bolt was born on Monday, October 5, 1936, in rural Ramsey, IL, the son of Jenkins Alexander and Cleo (Hawthorne) Bolt. He was a 1958 graduate of Eastern Illinois University and a Vietnam Era veteran of the U.S. Army enlisting in 1959.
Following his military service, Mr. Bolt lived and worked many years in the Chicago area prior to his return to Ramsey to care for his ailing father and uncle and assist with the family farm. He mentioned on many occasions, however, that his most enjoyment came from flea marketing and he was often found set up at various fairs and festivals across Illinois as well as other states.
He is survived by nephews Chad Cooley and Violet, Beecher City, IL and Cavit Cooley and Denise, Browns Mills, NJ, as well as several great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents and his sister Rita Janice (Bolt) Cooley.
