A Springfield man is being named as the state’s new Adjutant General. Brigadier General Richard Neely is now the 40th Illinois Adjutant General, leading the National Guard and advising the Governor on military matters. He has a cybersecurity background and says that will be an important issue.
Neely has nearly 29 years of service as a military officer and has been deployed as part of operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
