A winter storm will impact the area beginning this evening and continuing into Saturday. Snow will develop across northeast Missouri and west central Illinois this evening, with rain changing to snow further south across central Missouri overnight. Rain will change to snow across the remainder of the eastern Missouri and southwest Illinois on Saturday morning. Travel conditions will deteriorate and become hazardous after the onset of snow or complete transition from rain to snow. The storm should completely exit the region by early Saturday evening. Storm total snow accumulations will be greatest in northeast Missouri and west central Illinois where 4-7 inches of snow is expected and strong and gusty northwest winds will result in blowing and drifting snow. Snow accumulations will range from 2-5 inches further south across the remainder of central and eastern Missouri into southwest Illinois.
