(Chicago, IL) — Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner wanted out of the race for governor so badly he says he asked a couple of people about replacing him on the ballot. The Chicago Tribune is reporting that Rauner tried to find a replacement last spring. The paper says he approached retired state Senator Karen McConnaughay and former Cubs’ owning family member Tom Ricketts to run. Both said no. Rauner confirmed that he talked with some people, but didn’t name names.
