A Brownstown man has been charged in Fayette County Court with two counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse. 41- year old Jason D. McCaslin appeared in court on Tuesday at which time he was advised of the charges against him and probable cause was found to detain the defendant. McCaslin did inform the court that he intended to hire private counsel. A bond hearing was held with Public Defender William Starnes present and bond was set at $100,000. McCaslin is charged with two counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse as McCaslin is alleged to have committed acts of sexual penetration with two separate victims who were at least 13 years of age but under 17 years of age. Each count is a Class 2 felony punishable by three to seven years in prison. McCaslin is set to make a first appearance with counsel and a preliminary hearing on January 2 at 11am.
