Severe Storms will make their way to our area this evening. In the Situation Report for today from the National Weather Service in St. Louis, they state that Scattered supercell thunderstorms are possible this afternoon into early this evening. The storms will be fast-moving at 50+ mph to the northeast. Damaging wind gusts to 65 mph, large hail to the size of golf balls, and isolated tornadoes are the severe weather threat with these storms. The thunderstorms will also contain frequent deadly cloud to ground lightning. They also add the storms will be fast moving from the southwest to the northeast at 50+ miles per hour. As for timing, the NWS Situation Report puts our time for severe weather potential at 5 pm to 7 pm this evening.
