(Normal, IL) — The president of Illinois State University says it’s time that the state treats its universities the same. President Larry Dietz told the Bloomington Pantagraph that he wants a “fair” formula that sends state money to schools based on enrollment and retention. Dietz says his university gets the smallest per-student funding in the state. But ISU is third in overall state funding. Lawmakers say they want to find a way to pay for the state’s 12 public universities that levels the playing field, but they admit that will take some time.
