Billy Gene Swick, 65, of Brownstown, IL passed away at 3:28 PM, Sunday, November 25, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Hohlt and File Funeral Home, Vandalia with Rev. Don Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Griffith Cemetery, Brownstown. Visitation will be held prior to services from 9:00-11:00 AM, Thursday at the funeral home. Billy Gene Swick was born on April 3, 1953 in Seminole, TX, the son of William “Dude” and Mary “Eileen” (Horn) Swick. He married Cheryl Ann Goldsboro on June 8, 1974. Bill was a laborer and member of the Laborer’s Union Local #1197 out of McCleansboro, IL. He was also a member of the Vandalia Moose Lodge #1447 and the Brownstown United Methodist Church. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Swick; son, Chalen Swick; daughter, Terra and husband, Wyatt Schnarre; and grandchildren, Chalen Swick II, Emslee Swick, Gavin Schnarre, and Avery Schnarre; all of Brownstown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dude and Eileen Swick.
