(Chicago, IL) — Parents of football players at Simeon High School in Chicago are accusing an Illinois High School Association official of cheating. A lawsuit filed on Friday against the IHSA claims Richard Mercado influenced officials during the state playoff game between Simeon and Nazareth on November 10th. Mercado is a parent of a player on Nazareth, which won the game 34-27. The suit requests that the IHSA vacate Nazareth’s win and that the IHSA stops employing Mercado and the crew that worked the game.
