The Fayette County Board passed its annual budget resolution during its monthly meeting on Tuesday night showing a balanced budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The budget shows revenues for the county predicted to be just over $5.075 million with expenses expected to come in at $5.074 million. That would leave the county at a surplus of about $1500 for the fiscal year. The budget does reflect expected lower revenue levels for several of the court-related departments in the county.
Also during the meeting, the board approved its annual tax levy showing a just over 2% increase as compared to last year’s levy amount. The board also approved a new one-year contract with Bellwether, LLC, the company who has been serving the county in an administrative capacity for a little more than a year.
In other business, the board approved the closing of the courthouse from 11am-1pm on Tuesday, December 11 for the county employee Christmas party.
