A major winter storm looks to be tracking to the area, arriving tonight, and bringing several inches of snow before all is said and done on Thursday afternoon. In the Situation Report this morning from the National Weather Service in St. Louis it is still estimating the snowfall for Vandalia and Fayette County to be at 5 inches—with the chance for up to 7 inches on the high end of their prediction. The NWS says they are calling for wide spread snowfall thru Thursday and it could be heavy snow at times. According to the Situation Report, they are estimating snowfall to begin for Vandalia and Fayette County around 9 pm tonight and continue until Thursday afternoon.
