The President of the Vandalia Park Board is resigning. In a letter dated for yesterday, Brian Stout announces his resignation from the Vandalia Park Board. In the letter, Stout says “it has been an absolute pleasure serving the citizens of Vandalia as well as working with the other members of the Park Board.” Stout also says in his letter that “I believe that park board positions should rotate to allow other members of the community to step in and implement their ideas and creativity. Which is why I made my decision to allow just that to occur.” Stout goes on to state he wishes nothing but the best for the current Board of Directors. Stout’s resignation comes after his run for the area’s State Senate seat. Stout lost in the Tuesday General Election to Jason Plummer.
