The Vandalia City Council was presented with its Fiscal Year 2018 audit during the council’s first meeting of November on Monday night. Dale Timmerman and Tricia Elam of Timmerman & Associates were on hand to present the audit. To begin, Timmerman explained that with looking at the various funds, a few did show a deficit. However, Timmerman said that is simply due to timing with revenues and is not an area of concern.
In several funds, Timmerman pointed out where expenses were significantly less for FY18 compared to the previous year and stated that was due the city having to pay out less for group health insurance. Timmerman warned those numbers would more than likely flip-flop in the next fiscal year.
Following the presentation of the audit, the Vandalia City Council unanimously approved the audit.
