A City of Vandalia Resident is urging his fellow residents to vote No on the City’s Sales Tax increase that will appear on the ballot one week from today. Roger Hill laid out 6 reasons why he believes residents should vote no for the 1/2% sales tax increase. Hill says one of those reasons is Illinois residents are already the highest taxed in the nation.
And, Hill says that sales tax increases hit low income families the most.
The City of Vandalia has placed the measure on the November 6th ballot, asking for a 1/2% sales tax increase in the City of Vandalia. 1/4% would be used for the building of a new Water Treatment plant while 1/4% would be used for the police pension fund. We’ll hear more from Roger Hill coming up tomorrow.
