It’s that time of year when farmers and motorists need to share the road. There are typically more than 275 crashes with farm equipment each year in Illinois. U of I Extension Agricultural Safety Specialist Bob Aherin has some tips for farmers to avoid an accident.
Aherin says drivers need to do their part as well, but slowing down and giving big farm equipment plenty of room. Machinery is usually traveling at less than 25 miles per hour so it’s important to keep an eye out on country roads.
