Randall Scott “Randy” Woolsey, 64, of Patoka, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at his home. He was born on April 27, 1954 the son of Herbert and Dixie (Miller) Woolsey in Vandalia. He married Cynthia Brown on June 16, 1973 in Vandalia.
Randy was truly devoted to his family, including his wife of 45 years, Cindy Woolsey of Patoka,; 2 children, daughter, Sara Beth Doyle and husband Tom of Arnold, Maryland; son, Anthony Woolsey of Centralia; 2 grandchildren, Connor Doyle and Madeleine Doyle; father, Herbert Woolsey and wife Mary of Vandalia; brothers, Rick Woolsey (Karla Simpson), Ron Woolsey (Kathy Miller), Ryan Woolsey (Brenda Dunaway), Raymond Woolsey and wife Coni all of Vandalia; sister, Rita Metzger and husband Tim of Vandalia; mother-in-law Betty Brown of Vandalia; sisters-in-law, Beth Redman and husband Larry of Fillmore, and Kathy Draege (Mark Kreke) of Carlyle; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Dixie Woolsey; father-in-law, David Brown; his grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
Randy owned and operated Woolsey Custom Application, Inc. since 1975, moving to Patoka in 1978. He was a caring business owner and enjoyed being friends with his employees and his customers. He was a faithful member of the Patoka United Methodist Church. Randy loved to fish for white bass in Carlyle Lake, deer hunt, and play poker. He especially treasured the times when his grandchildren would come to visit as he was so very proud to be a grandpa.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Patoka United Methodist Church in Patoka with Reverend Lisa Wiedman and Pastor Rick Atchley officiating. Interment will be in Patoka City Cemetery in Patoka. Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Patoka United Methodist Church in Patoka. Memorial may be made in Randy’s honor to Patoka United Methodist Church, Shriners Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, or SSM Hospice.
