A Ramsey man who allegedly led police on a pursuit from Brownstown to Ramsey and then was the subject of a six-day search by law enforcement, plead not guilty in Fayette County Curt on Tuesday. 39 year old Nick L. Maness appeared for a preliminary hearing at which he waived formal arraignment in the case and entered the not guilty plea and made a demand for jury trial. Maness is charged with two counts of theft, both of which are Class 3 felonies punishable by two to five years in prison. Maness is also charged with two counts of aggravated fleeing from police over 21 mph, both Class 4 felonies punishable by one to three years in prison as well as one Class A misdemeanor count of reckless conduct. Maness is also facing one count of unlawful possession of weapons by a felon for allegedly possessing two swords with blades three feet in length, a Class 3 felony. Maness is scheduled to make his next appearance in court on October 30 for a pre-trial hearing.
