Just three months ago, the Supreme Court issued a ruling in the Janus vs. AFSCME case that nonunion workers cannot be forced to pay fees to public sector unions. With that ruling still recent and the full effect of the ruling on public sector unions still playing out, Democrat candidates in the November election have many times encountered the topic while on the campaign trail. Senate Candidate Brian Stout says he is proud to be endorsed by two major unions and says he feels they are very important to the 54th District.
David Seiler, candidate for the 107th State Representative seat, says he is a proud member of a union but also says he can see both sides of the issue and find middle ground.
Another major issue the candidates say they are asked about or hear about is taxes. And we will hear from Stout and Seiler about that tomorrow on Newscenter.
