Some showers and thunderstorms look to be on the way thru the area today. And, they will be followed by cooler temperatures. The National Weather Service in St. Loui says scattered showers and thunderstorms are continuing to move across parts of the region and will continue. Brief heavy downpours, occasional lightning, wind gusts to around 40 mph, and possibly some small hail are all possible with these storms. The heaviest storms will likely shift east into east central Illinois by late morning or around noon. We’ll see a high today of 84, then down to 57 for a low tonight. And, then partly sunny with a high of just 70 on Saturday.
