No matter where you were in Fayette County, it was certainly a wet weekend. But, how much of a problem the rain was varied greatly from the north to the south part of the county. The rains on Saturday stuck with the area for several hours. For those living north of I-70 in Fayette County, the rain totals seemed to vary between 2 inches and up to about 4.5 inches. But, it was a different story in the southern section of the county. Rain amounts up to 9.65 inches were reported by listeners in the southern section of the county, leading to major flooding throughout the day on Saturday. The rains hung around until mid-afternoon, before the heavy rain moved on. The area did see a little light rain on Saturday night.
