(Detroit, MI) — Jeimer Candelario hit a walk-off two-run homer in the ninth inning to lift the Tigers past the Cardinals 5-3 at Comerica Park. Dawel Lugo plated a run for Detroit in the second inning and Nick Castellanos drilled a two-run single in the fifth to the game up at 3-3. Shane Greene was credited with the win as the Tigers picked up their third straight victory. Marcell Ozuna homered twice for St. Louis and Jordan Hicks was charged with the loss. The Cards are clinging on to the final Wild Card spot in the National League at 78-and-63.
(Washington, DC) — Friday’s game between the Nationals and Cubs is being postponed due to rain in D.C. The game will be made-up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday. The Cubs opened the four-game series with a 6-4 win in 10-innings on Thursday.
