A Fillmore man and a Ramsey man have both been charged with two counts of burglary in Fayette County Court. 25 year old Shawn M. Durbin and 19 year old Bradley J. Ulery are both charged with two counts of burglary, one involving a motor vehicle and the second involving a Vandalia business. The two counts are Class 2 felonies which are punishable by three to seven years in prison. The pair are also each charged with one count of possession of burglary tools and one count of mob action which are Class 4 felonies, punishable by one to three years in prison, and one misdemeanor count each of criminal damage to property, theft and criminal trespass to a vehicle. A third person, a 17 year old Vandalia Juvenile was also arrested in connection to the crimes and is also charged with the same seven counts as Durbin and Ulery. Both Durbin and Ulery made appearances in Fayette County Court on Tuesday, at which time they were advised of the charges. Bond hearings were also held with bond set at $30,000 for Durbin and $20,000 for Ulery. Public Defender Bill Starnes was appointed to represent Ulery while Conflict Public Defender Jeff DeLong will represent Durbin. Preliminary hearing for both men in the matter has been set for October 2 at 11am. Meanwhile, the Juvenile was sent to the Madison County Juvenile detention center.
