A family’s home south of Brownstown was significantly damaged early Sunday morning. Brownstown Fire Department reports they responded to the home of Jerod and Margie Ramsey, south of Brownstown, at around 3:30 am on Sunday morning. Brownstown Fire says before their arrival they notified dispatch to activate the MABAS full still level and upon arrival bumped that up to a box alarm which brought in mutual aid help from Altamont, Farina, Ramsey, St. Elmo and Vandalia and a standby ambulance from Rural Med. Firefighters were then on the scene of the fire for about 4 hours.
