(Springfield, IL) — Illinois’ employment laws will still only apply to companies or businesses that employ at least 15 people. Governor Rauner yesterday vetoed a plan that would have applied the state’s labor laws to any business that employs even just one person. The governor said the legislation would be too much of a burden for the state’s small businesses. Democrats at the Capitol say the governor is making excuses to allow people to discriminate against workers.
