Vandalia will be a part of the 200th anniversary celebration for the State of Illinois on Saturday. As part of “Doors Open Illinois” Vandalia will have several events coming up tomorrow. Mary Truitt was a guest on the Morning Cafe to talk about the events on Saturday, including a special event with 1836 legislators at the Vandalia Statehouse.
There is also exhibits at the Fayette County Museum where you can view Lincoln items and those used during his time in Vandalia. The National Road Interpretive Center will also be open for tours. The First Presbyterian Church in Vandalia will have a special Lincoln service on Sunday morning at 9 am. The activities will be going on Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm.
