Special Weather Statement from the National Weather Service in St. Louis—
Areas of fog continue to develop over sections of central and
northeast Missouri as well as west and southwest Illinois,
resulting in variable visibility. Patchy dense fog, mainly over
Illinois, has occasionally resulted in visibility of around 1/4
of a mile. Dense fog of 1/4 mile has been less common over
Missouri. Expect fog to gradually dissipate after sunrise with
more rapid improvement through approximately 9 a.m. this morning.
Drivers should prepared for sudden changes in visibility. Leave
plenty of room between traveling vehicles, reduce speed and use
low beam headlights.
