>>Cubs Acquire Hamels From Rangers
(Undated) — The Cubs are attempting to beef up their starting rotation. Chicago has acquired lefty Cole Hamels from the Rangers for multiple low level minor-league prospects. The 34-year-old is 5-and-9 with a 4.72 ERA this season, but does have a 2.93 ERA away from hitter friendly Globe Life Park.
>>Cubs Place Bryant On DL
(Chicago, IL) — Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant is finding himself back on the disabled list. Chicago announced the move on Thursday and it’s retroactive to July 24th. Bryant is still dealing with the shoulder inflammation that kept him out from June 22nd to July 11th. He’s started in nine games since then until he aggravated the issue on Monday. Bryant is hitting .276 with 11 homers and 44 RBI this season.
