Mrs. Beverly “Joan” Keppler, 84, of Vandalia, IL passed away at 6:00PM, Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at her home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church, Vandalia with Dr. Ben Foxworth officiating. Interment will follow in Ritter Cemetery, Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, July 20, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church and prior to services on Saturday from 9:00-10:00 AM. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Joan Keppler was born on September 1, 1933 in Nokomis, IL, the daughter of H. Lloyd and Marguerite (Popock) Stanley. She married Joseph Donald Keppler on June 10, 1950; together they raised four children. Joan was a homemaker and co-owner/operator of Joe’s Auto Service. She was also a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she previously taught Sunday School and was a greeter. Joan was very family oriented and doted her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Keppler of Vandalia; sons, Michael Keppler and wife Monique of Sherman, IL and Kevin Keppler and wife Shelly of Vandalia; daughter, Brenda Kistler and friend Bruce Boaz Jr. of Vandalia; grandchildren, Matthew Keppler, Marc Keppler and wife Leslie, Michelle and husband Dan Hartman, Melissa and husband Reece DeFreese, Jay Keppler and wife Ashlee, Kayci and husband Cody Goldsboro, Jennifer Kistler, Lindsay and husband Ryan Lash, Kyle Keppler and wife Michele, Mitchell Keppler and wife Skyler, and Cameron Keppler; 21 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Shirley and husband Don Casey of Springfield, MO and Karen Paschall of CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Keppler; granddaughter, Monica Kistler; and great-granddaughter, Kayley DeFreese.
