With the 4th of July falling in the middle of the week, it allows for the possibility of events on two different weekends….and also on the 4th of July, as well. And, Greenville and Carlyle Lake will kick off the areas holiday events tomorrow.
Greenville will have their Fourth Fest Celebration at the downtown square in Greenville. There will be a Superheroes and Princesses Parade at 1:30 pm, the Greenville Muny Band at 3 pm, Chapman Brothers at 4 pm, the Hot Brass–the U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America at 5:30 pm and that will lead up to a performance by the Kentucky Headhunters at 7:30 pm and their fireworks show at 9:30 pm. There will also be a Family fun area, food and drinks and you can see the Bubble Bus from 5 pm to 6 pm.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Carlyle Lake is preparing for a day of events tomorrow. Their event is called the Fireworks Spectacular. Events will kick off at 12 pm with a sandcastle building contest with water safety games and activities to start at 12:30 pm. There will also be music that can be heard from Picnic Shelter 2 in the Dam West Day Use area, with bands performing beginning at 12:30 pm. The bands are 12:30 pm the Jumpstarts, 2 pm Simple Therapy, 3:30 pm Reckless Intent, 5 pm Selective Memory, 6:30 pm Stump Water Shine and 8 pm Double Shot. That leads up to their fireworks show on Saturday night.
