A large group of area youth baseball players got to learn from a former Major League pitcher this week in Vandalia. Former Major League pitcher Pat Perry, who is a Taylorville native, talks about what he works with the kids on during his camp.
As for watching Major League Baseball now, Perry says he thinks they may need to get back to some fundamentals.
Perry pitched for the Cardinals from 1985 to 1987, the Cubs in 1988 and 1989 and also pitched for the Reds and the Dodgers during his pro career. Perry says he’s been working with youth in camps like the one he held in Vandalia for the past 25 years.
