Luella Emily Leach, 83, of Ramsey, IL passed away at 9:15 AM, Monday, June 25, 2018.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Vandalia with Pastor Mohr officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery, Vera. Visitation will be held from 6:00- 8:00 PM, Friday, June 29, 2018, and one hour prior to services on Saturday, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Vandalia. Luella Emily Leach was born October 24, 1934 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Erich and Celena (Woijeck) Bombal. She married Victor V. Leach on November 24, 1957; together they celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Luella was formerly an elementary school teacher for Ramsey School District; retiring after 34 years, owner and operator of Ceramics Unlimited in Ramsey for nearly 30 years, as well as a Mary Kay Beauty consultant. She enjoyed teaching and volunteering for social functions, especially those that involved children. Luella was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, where she previously taught Sunday school, and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #460.
She is survived by her husband, Victor Leach; son, Gary Leach; daughter, Vicky Schaal and husband Matthew; grandchildren, Brady Haupt and wife Megan, and Cory Schaal; great-granddaughter, Brooke Haupt; all of Ramsey; and sister, Florence Tate of Vandalia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Donald Bombal, Michael Bombal, and Anna Batty.
