a 60 year old Buffalo, Missouri man made an appearance in Fayette County Court on Friday, on charges connected to the recent fatal pedestrian accident on Interstate 70 in western Fayette County. 60 year old Ray L. Ryan appeared in Fayette County Court on Friday morning with his attorney. Ryan was advised of the charges against him and his bond, which is currently one million dollars. A bond hearing has now been scheduled for Tuesday morning at 11 am, with a preliminary hearing set for July 12th at 10 am. Ryan has been charged with Failure to Report an Accident involving Personal Injury or Death. Illinois State Police said last week they had identified the vehicle that was alleged to have left the scene of the fatal pedestrian accident that occurred on the night of June 20th and led to the death of 46 year old Peter F. Peters of Elmira, Ontario, Canada. State Police reported this past Friday that follow up investigation had identified the vehicle that was allegedly involved in the accident in Ohio and Ryan was arrested at that time and was then later transferred to Fayette County.
